You Might not Like me, But God Loves me!
Are there people who, just don’t like you, or perhaps even hate you? In a recent post on Facebook, I mentioned that I had something in common with President Trump, our birthdays are on the same day. He and I have something else in common. There will always be people who either love us or hate us. We accept that because even with all our flaws, we know God loves us unconditionally and has forgiven us, past, present, and future.
We are frail humans who will always make mistakes and say dumb things. Some people will never forgive or forget our sins. They don’t understand that God forgives a multitude of sins, or follow the words of Jesus, let them without sin cast the first stone of hate and judgment. Their stones of hate and judgment cannot stop us from walking in our divine destiny. We serve a sovereign God, and we believe what scripture says, Psalm 139:16, “Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
Haters are calling God a fool for using us, that is if they even acknowledge God. The ones that love us can see how God uses people with all types of backgrounds. Apostle Paul killed Christians, King David was an adulterer, and Peter denied Jesus three times. They trust in God’s plan, not ours. My friend, perhaps there are people who still judge you because of a mistake you had made. We can never lose sight that God has called us, flaws, and everything else to make a difference in this world.
We will never agree with everyone, and not everyone will agree with us. As Christians, we need to pray for our enemies. As Christians, we should speak with love and grace or say nothing at all. We can change this world for good when we live and love like Jesus.
My prayer, “God, please touch the hearts of those who are filled with hate and let them know, you are not a fool, and you are working your will on this earth in ways no human mind can comprehend. God, please show haters that hate is from the depths of hell and certainly not any part of your plans for earth and certainly not in the hearts of your true followers. Let haters see that without a heart transformation, they are destined to a life of misery, anger, and bitterness. Jesus, I pray any person dealing with hate, allow your love and forgiveness to wash them clean so they can discover their divine destiny, Amen.”
